On Deluges

In relation to the Fundamental Formalization of “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations and in regards to “deluges” it might be that many ancient civilizations did fall to certain kinds of “deluges” or flood if not of the water kind then possibly of the economic kind in relation to the 4 fundamental resources. Since water and the mastery of it is essential for a wealthy nation to arise, it could be that for whatever reason a civilization fails, many of them fell due to a failure of infrastructure, which for many nations could even specifically mean a water system (whether for example fresh water, sewage, or transport).

This might also help explain why so many different civilizations have stories involving massive floods.
